Dark and Moody Fall Wedding Inspiration | The West Events

After months of high humidity and summer temperatures, Floridians can't wait for the transition as the fall season beckons cozy spaces, warm colors, and rich textiles. This autumnal-inspired styled shoot features deep floral tones, textured linens, and moody candlelight perfect for couples who seek a departure from the typical light and airy wedding style.

“Our theme for this event was a romantic, fall-inspired wedding. We wanted to create something with some inspiration for the fall brides,” Jaimi Weatherspoon, Owner/Planner of I Choose You Events, shared. “I love using colors that are in season but creating a little unlikely twist with accent colors. We used dark dusty rose, plum, mustard, red, greenery, and gold accents. You often see dusty pink with cream and gold or gray, but clients are often scared of bringing in pops of color. Styled shoots are great for that reason; it allows us to show clients the possibilities without them being invested personally. They often find themselves surprised by how much they love something that they were having a hard time picturing.”

This warm concept drew style direction from the historic Maderia Beach venue's existing architecture. Wood tables and chairs echoed the horizontal beams of the statement wall, while deep shades of décor elements mirrored the onyx floor and window treatments.

The West Events is a great space. For this shoot, we really wanted to bring in textures and lighting. The West Events was perfect for that,” Jaimi gushed. “This venue is a dream, with wood walls, amazing lighting, and a bar that will make you drool!”

Large light-up letters from Alpha-Lit Tampa St. Petersburg created an eye-catching focal point, while textured velvet table linens added a layer of luxe visual interest to the space. The plethora of candlelight created a magical effect with the fabric for a stunning result.

“My favorite element were the dark dusty rose velvet linens. They were amazing! The texture brought life to the shoot! The candlelight shimmered through them and brought everything together. It was literally a whole vibe!” the planner beamed.

Layers of texture were also reflected in the gorgeous gown from Truly Forever Bridal. The fit-and-flare silhouette featured embroidered lace details, an illusion neckline, and a combination of tulle and horsehair ribbon train.
